Rally

Rally

For a noticeable part of my life, I’ve been deeply involved in classic rally.
This is a fantastic emotional experience. When you drive a rally car your everyday life is left behind. And you are in another reality where only road, your car and your co-driver reading pace notes exist. It’s a deep synthesis of joy of speed, sporting competition and beauty. When you drive really fast, only your subconscious mind works and everything around you seems to be going very slowly as if in slow motion.
I was lucky enough to start rallying when I was 43, but to become the bronze medal winner of the Russian Rally Championship and the Master of Sports of Russia when I was 50. I spent eight full seasons in the Cup and Championship of Russia and one season in the Championship of Estonia. I also spent two seasons as a coach.
Pictures in this section of this site are not only mine. In many cases I was at the steering wheel. Many pictures here are shot by my friends and team members, some of them by professional rally photographers.
This is rather a story of my rallying life captured in photographs. Some of my team members have unfortunately already gone from us. You may see their pictures here as well.
